Geography Tips
🌿 Vegetation Clues
Different regions have distinctive vegetation. Tropical areas have lush green forests, deserts show sandy browns, and tundra regions appear barren. Rice paddies indicate Southeast Asia, olive groves suggest Mediterranean climates.
🏗️ Urban Patterns
City layouts reveal location. European cities often have medieval centers with winding streets, American cities feature grid patterns, and Asian megacities show dense high-rise clusters. Look for distinctive architectural styles and building colors.
🛣️ Road Networks
Road infrastructure varies by region. Wide highways suggest developed areas, red dirt roads are common in Africa, and narrow mountain paths indicate elevated terrain. Roundabouts are more common in Europe and former British colonies.
🏔️ Terrain Features
Mountains, rivers, and coastlines are excellent location indicators. The Andes have distinctive ridgelines, Scandinavian fjords are unmistakable, and the Sahara's sand patterns are unique. Look for shadows to understand elevation.
🌾 Agricultural Patterns
Farming styles vary globally. Circular irrigation patterns indicate North America or Middle East, terraced hillsides suggest East Asia, and vineyard rows are common in wine regions like France or California.
